The City of Doral is inviting all senior citizens (55 years of age or older) who reside in Doral to come and participate in trips, bingo nights, seminar and luncheons, programs and socials. We offer a variety of programs for all interests and abilities to help keep our senior citizens active and involved in our community. Social: Grandparents Day Brunch at Cultural Arts Center

Trip: Deering Estate Historic House Museum Tour
Silver Club members will join go on a guided tour to hear the amazing history of Richmond Cottage. The houses were immaculately maintained and filled with fine art and antiques. Bring your picnic lunch to enjoy in the Royal Palm Grove to top off the day’s activities. This walking tour is mostly indoors but ventures outdoors to view the exterior of the Museum Homes as well.

- Steal or Swap: Subsequent participants can choose to steal an already opened gift or pick a new one from the pile. The game heats up as coveted gifts change hands!

Senior Tai Chi is a low-impact group exercise that uses movements (forms) that are performed slowly, with relaxing music playing in the background. This class is led by an instructor, who teaches and demonstrates the form so participants can follow along as a group. Forms include energy and breathing exercises (Qi Gong), Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis 1&2 Protocol, Yang 24 (Simplified). Seated versions of the forms are also taught as an alternative to standing.

Senior Meditation, breathing and QI Gong

This class is a great way for older adults to get the wonderful health benefits of meditating, learning breathing techniques and practicing Qigong which promotes the development and flow of the body’s vital energy. Through this class seniors will learn how to calm their minds and focus on the present moment to enhance their sense of wellbeing.

This class features fun, friendship, and fitness. Gentle rhythmic movements provide a warm-up, followed by a gradual aerobic segment and exercises to help increase bone density and muscle strength.
