The 2019 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. This sales tax holiday begins Friday, May 31, 2019 and extends through Thursday, June 6, 2019.

The Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed 2019 Non-ad Valorem Assessment Roll for the Miami-Dade County Solid Waste Service Area in the Commission Chambers at 111 NW 1 Street, 2nd Floor, Miami, Florida 33128 on June 18, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.

The Mayor and Council invite residents and members of the community to Doral’s annual Independence Day Celebration with a live concert and a spectacular fireworks show at Doral Central  Park, located at 3000 NW 87th Ave. Each year, over 35,000 people gather for the City’s biggest event of the year.

In November 2018 Doral voters approved a Doral Parks Bond to fund several citywide park projects.

On May 8th, the City of Doral swore in new City Manager, Mr. Albert P. Childress. Mr. Childress has been with Doral for 14 years, successfully working with the community as Director of the Code Compliance Department and then as Deputy City Manager.

Beginning May 1st, the City of Doral began its partnership with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Foundation's Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) to help individuals 55 and older find employment in the City.
