As the City continues to move forward through Hurricane Season, weather events are increasing in frequency that could potentially affect the City of Doral and its surrounding areas with heavy rainfall, resulting in potential stormwater flooding.

The 2019 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis. This sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 2, 2019, and runs through Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County’s Immunization Program is urging parents to check their children’s immunization record to see if they are due for a vaccine. Children entering Kindergarten and 7th grade are normally due for a vaccine and need to meet the requirements for school entry.

On July 16, 2019, Doral Mayor and City Council inaugurated the City’s new Divisional Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The special ceremony included the unveiling of a plaque and ribbon cutting. Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez took the podium in the facility for his remarks as he would during an actual emergency, surrounded by state-of-the-art computer monitoring systems.

Attention, Doral Trolley riders! On Monday, July 15 we will begin a 3-week roadway resurfacing project along NW 114 Avenue between NW 58 Street and NW 74 Street.  During this time, (Monday, July 15 – Monday, August 5) Trolley Routes 1 and 3 will be detoured to NW 107 Avenue.

On July 15th, the City of Doral Public Works Department will commence a construction project to continue making our roads smoother and safer! This project includes the road improvements of NW 114th avenue from NW 58th street to NW 74th street and NW 117th avenue 600 feet north of NW 25th street.

Please be careful if out on the roads as parts of Doral are flooded. We are working with Miami-Dade County and South Florida Water Management District to address and Doral Police Service Aides are on the streets helping to divert traffic. City's vendors are currently en route to vacuum-up excess water.

From June 28th to July 1st, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez attended the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) 87th Annual Meeting in Honolulu, HI, along with more than 250 of the nation’s mayors.

Since 2018, it was a goal of the City of Doral to apply for the prestigious recognition that shines a spotlight on the incredible work taking place in communities across the country and celebrates the best in local innovation, civic engagement and cross-sector collaboration.

The City of Doral and its Commission on the Status of Women Advisory Board extend the opportunity to the community to honor and recognize women throughout Doral for their accomplishments and contributions by nominating women in the categories listed below for the Women of Legacy Recognition Award.
