Alert Regarding an Alleged Email from the City of Doral

Dear Doral Business/Resident,
Please be advised that the below email is NOT from the City of Doral. We have reported to Doral Police and Information Technology Departments so they may further investigate. We are looking into this matter to ascertain its origin. In the meantime, please do NOT click or reply if you receive the below email.

• Verify the Email Sender: Always check the sender's email address carefully. Scammers often use addresses that look similar to legitimate ones, with slight differences.
   
• Look for Urgent or Threatening Language: Phishing attempts often create a sense of urgency or fear. Be wary of emails pressuring you to act quickly or threatening consequences.
   
• Inspect Links Before Clicking: Hover over any links in the email (without clicking) to see the URL. If it doesn't match the legitimate website's URL or looks suspicious, do not click.
   
• Be Skeptical of Unsolicited Attachments: Avoid opening email attachments from unknown senders. They could contain malware or viruses.
   
• Seek Out Official Channels: If an email asks for sensitive information, verify its legitimacy by contacting the organization through official channels, not by replying to the email.
   
• The City of Doral Will Never Ask for Sensitive Information via Email: We will never request your password, social security number, or other sensitive personal information through unsolicited emails.
   
• Educate Your Team: Share this information with your colleagues, friends, and family. Awareness is a powerful tool against cyber threats.
