Beware of Phone Scam!

The Doral Police Department has become aware of a phone scam in which the offender(s) use the Doral PD's main line phone number, 305-593-6699, to contact their victims and falsely advise that they are part of an ongoing investigation and need to cooperate in order to avoid criminal charges. The victim is then instructed to purchase Visa gift cards that will later be collected by an "officer". Once the gift cards are purchased the subject will ask for the gift card numbers over the phone.

This is a common phishing SCAM operating from outside of the United States.

Please note that the Doral Police Department has NEVER and will NEVER ask for your financial information or sensitive data over the phone nor persuade you to purchase anything on behalf of the department.

ALERTA DE ESTAFA TELEFÓNICA

El Departamento de Policía de Doral les informa de una estafa telefónica en la que los subjeto(s) usan el número de teléfono de la línea principal del Departamento de Policía de Doral, 305-593-6699, para comunicarse con sus víctimas y avisar falsamente que son parte de una investigación y cooperar para evitar cargos criminales. Luego, se le indica a la víctima que compre tarjetas de regalo Visa que luego serán recolectadas por un "oficial". Una vez que se compran las tarjetas de regalo, el sujeto le pedirá los números de tarjeta de regalo por teléfono.

Esta es una estafa común que opera desde fuera de los Estados Unidos.

Tenga en cuenta que el Departamento de Policía de Doral NUNCA le ha pedido y NUNCA le pedirá su información financiera o datos confidenciales por teléfono ni lo persuadirá para que compre nada en nombre del departamento.
