City Officials Commemorate Doral Cultural Arts Center Construction Milestone
Doral, FL - On August 3rd, Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, City Council along with project contractor, KVC Constructors, Inc. and architect, Bermello Ajamil & Partners, celebrated the important construction milestone of the Doral Cultural Arts Center project with a Beam Signing Ceremony. The final beam was signed by City leadership and key project personnel and then lifted into place commemorating the evolution of the building. The facility is scheduled to be completed during the Spring of 2022.
The highly anticipated facility is located between 53rd Street and 53rd Terrace, adjacent to the City of Doral Government Center. At 14,316 square feet, the Doral Cultural Arts Center will be the hub of cultural and performing arts in the City, with a large art gallery space, a multi-purpose room, outdoor courtyards/garden spaces, rooftop plaza, and public restrooms.
“The Doral Cultural Arts Center will be the first of its kind in our City – a state-of-the-art facility that will bring more cultural opportunities to Doral,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “We recognize the importance of the arts in our community and through this project remain committed to expanding these offerings for residents and visitors, further flourishing into a beacon for the arts in the west region of Miami-Dade County.”
The design of the facility and the amenities included addresses the community’s needs as identified in the Parks System Master Plan through community surveys and several community workshops that gave residents the opportunity to provide feedback. Following that process, the Mayor and City Council unanimously agreed that the residents should decide the future of our parks. Residents ultimately decided that they wanted projects like this to continue improving their quality of life. Doral voters approved the Doral Parks Bond in November 2018, which includes Doral Cultural Arts Center as well as several other high priority park improvements in the City.
