Unveil New Doral PD Mounted Patrol Unit

Doral, FL - On Tuesday, August 3rd, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, City Council and Doral Police joined Ocean Automotive Group/Ocean Mazda for a special presentation introducing the newest unit in the Doral Police Department – the Mounted Patrol Unit, is comprised of “Ocean”. Ocean is a Standardbred gelding that was donated to the City by Doral-based, Ocean Automotive Group/Ocean Mazda. “Ocean” will be instrumental in policing Doral parks and special events, while engaging the residents through positive community policing.

“We are proud to welcome “Ocean” as a new and innovative approach that will help Doral Police continue the commitment to maintaining a safe community for all to live, work, learn and play in our City,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “This wouldn’t be possible without the support from Ocean Automotive Group/Ocean Mazda which are great neighbors and like the City, understand the importance of investing in resources to keep the community safe.”

“Ocean” will work its first event with the community at the Back to School and National Night Out event taking place on August 3rd at 6pm at the Doral Police Training & Community Center (3719 NW 97th Avenue Doral, FL 33178).
