Doral Approves Deal with HUBB
Agreement Makes Myriad of Tech Opportunities Available
Doral, FL – The Doral City Council approved by consent a Memorandum of Understanding with the HUBB Organization, Inc.; a tech-friendly shared business incubator. The Flagler Station based company is bullish on Doral’s energetic business scene and will leverage its profile in the high tech industry by super-charging Doral entrepreneurs.
HUBB, which means “love” in Arabic, will provide free business development consultations to 100 Doral businesses. The consultation is aimed at a holistic assessment that increases a businesses’ value and opportunities for growth while developing a sustainable revenue.
“It is surprising how many small high tech companies are in Doral ready to jump to the next level,” explained Manuel Pila, Doral’s Economic Developer. “HUBB will provide focus and their Silicon Valley experience to our local start-ups,” Pila added.
The City and its residents will also benefit from the relationship with HUBB. As part of the agreement, HUBB will organize a Hack-a-thon where expert programmers will work to create new applications to streamline city processes or develop new ways to collect, crunch and communicate data on SmartCity operations. In addition, HUBB will hold introduction to coding classes to Doral residents. “Coding is the new literacy, and this compliments our Code Explorers program,” said Parks and Recreation Director Barbie Hernandez.
“We are excited to have a city like Doral as a launch pad,” proclaimed HUBB Co-Founder Abdellatif Bedier of the agreement, “From the Global Trade and Logistics Accelerator to business consultations, we see a great partnership with Doral.”
