Doral Community Gathers to Celebrate Brazil Culture and Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil
Doral, FL – The Brazilian Amazon rainforest is one of the planet’s largest and most important ecosystems; it serves as home to the people who inhabit the forest and is an invaluable resource for global climate regulation. On September 30th, 2022, the City of Doral, in collaboration with The55ProjectArts Foundation, explored this important theme at the Doral Hearts Brazil event, presenting artistic works from Doral students, from kindergarten to high school.
This cultural collaboration, now in its 4th year, also celebrated the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil, featuring delicious Brazilian hors d'oeuvres, music, and more!
Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez and City Council hosted the community along with the Deputy Consul General of Brazil in Miami, the BR-USA Cultural Center, and the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce.
For the artistic implementation, The55Project worked with local Brazilian artist Fernanda Frangetto, to curate and install the works developed by the students of Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High School, Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School, and Downtown Doral Charter Upper School.
The City of Doral truly does love Brazil, and it has been made evident by a series of great celebrations in partnership with its citizens and those of Brazilian descent for their cultural contributions to Floridians and the world!
