Doral Cultural Arts Center Achieves "Florida Green" Gold Level Certification

The new Doral Cultural Arts Center has achieved the Florida Green Building Coalition's (FGBC) "Florida Green" Commercial building Gold Level certification.  This accomplishment was made possible through structured and collaborative efforts of all team members, who committed to and prioritized sustainability and excellence in green building practices. The Doral Cultural Arts Center project, which opened in October 2022,  achieved 181 points out of a required I00 points, earning the gold certification. This achievement further demonstrates the City's commitment to energy efficiency and reducing the negative environmental impacts of  projects, improving occupant health and well-being, and reducing operating costs for the owner.

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) created five Florida Green Standards, which were founded by industry professionals to promote sustainability in the built environment. Projects earn points for implementation of sustainable features.

ln its report "The Business Case for Green Building" the World Green Building Council identified compelling benefits of green building to various stakeholders.
