Doral Installs Aden Perry Hero Life Rings to Make Parks Safer
Doral, FL – A new public safety program has been launched in Doral to make our parks a safer place for all. In partnership with the Aden Perry Hero Life initiative, ring stations will be installed at all Doral parks with lakes. Doral is the first
municipality in Miami-Dade County to welcome these installations to help ensure a safer community.
Mayor Christi Fraga, Vice Mayor Oscar Puig-Corve, Councilman Rafael Pineyro, Councilwoman Maureen Porras, and Councilwoman Digna Cabral, joined Ms. Sarah Perry, Aden’s mom, and founder of the foundation, to unveil the rescue ring stations. The stations
all consist of Coast Guard-regulated rescue rings securely attached to ropes and will serve to empower bystanders to respond effectively to water emergencies without endangering themselves. Each station will also feature clear instructions and essential
resources, including a prominent lifesaving message: "THROW DON'T GO."
This Aden Perry Hero Life initiative honors the life and heroic actions of High School student, Aden Perry, who tragically lost his life in 2022 when he jumped in a canal to rescue someone from a submerged vehicle. Aden was later recognized with
the Carnegie Hero Fund Medal, North America's highest honor for heroism by a civilian. His legacy lives on through his mother, Sarah Perry, who continues to advocate for water safety and partners with municipalities and communities to make life
rings readily available to help prevent future tragedies.
