Doral Partners with CAMACOL for FREE Event Series
to Help Local Businesses
Doral, FL - The City of Doral and CAMACOL will partner on a series of FREE virtual workshops to help as part of a new partnership to provide services and programming to Doral businesses. The series kicks off on September 16th with the “Virtual Town Hall Meeting”, 11a.m.- 12p.m. The first session will introduce CAMACOL Doral key players and address feedback and questions from the public. Please submit your questions to communications@camacol.org. The subsequent monthly sessions will highlight different, prominent business sectors in the community.
“As one of the fastest growing cities in the country and an economic engine of Miami-Dade County, this collaboration will help take our businesses to the next level”, said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “I am proud to support this partnership with CAMACOL, a reputable organization that has great experience in promoting economic success and meeting the needs of local businesses.”
CAMACOL Doral was launched on August 10, 2020 as an exciting, new initiative to serve Doral businesses with programming to help them thrive. CAMACOL is the largest Hispanic business organization in the State of Florida and one of the most influential minority business groups in the United States. For five decades, CAMACOL’s mission has been and is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of Florida’s Hispanic and minority communities, and as such, it conducts programs to strengthen local business activity, promote economic development, facilitate international commerce, and serve the civic needs of the community and state.
“CAMACOL is ready to take its 55+ years of supporting local and international businesses to the Doral Market. We believe this is the right time to expand our organization west especially in Doral,” said Joe Chi, President of CAMACOL.
This new venture will be led by longtime successful entrepreneur & Doral business leader, Pete De La Torre, who will fill the role of CEO. Pete will work closely with the leaders of CAMACOL and the city’s economic development team in the implementation of various innovative & unique Doral centric programs to serve the over 12,000 businesses in the city.
“We are experiencing unprecedented and challenging times in the business community as a result of COVID-19”, said Pete De La Torre. “We must respond immediately to the needs of our local businesses in their efforts to rise above and move forward.”
