Doral Police Arrests Car Thief Following Chase

Doral, FL – During the morning of Thursday, July 6th, Doral Police Officer spotted a stolen vehicle that had traveled into Doral from the City of Miami. Vehicle was seen near Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High School where Doral Police had recently increased officer presence for additional safety. 

After attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the stolen vehicle refused to stop and struck the Doral Police Officer vehicle. A chase ensued, which concluded with the subject vehicle striking several trees in the Town of Medley where Doral Police was able to place him under arrest. The subjects nor the officers sustained any injuries.

“I love the way the South Florida law enforcement works together to keep our communities safe – today Doral Police caught an occupied stolen motor vehicle taken from City of Miami,” tweeted Miami Police Chief Manny Morales.

“The Doral Police Department’s approach to all cases continues to be that of zero tolerance, along with swift and safe resolution,” said Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez. “This is another example of our officers getting the job done and making our community a safer place for all.”
