Doral Shows Love for Brazil with Independence Celebration!
Doral, FL – The Government Center came alive on September 26, 2017, with the Doral Heart Brazil event, highlighting Brazil’s rich culture. The reception and art exhibit proudly celebrated Brazil’s Independence Anniversary of 195 years. For the special occasion, Doral’s Mayor and Councilmembers presented Ambassador Adalnio Senna Ganem, Consul General of Brazil, with a Proclamation for Brazil Day 2017.
There was no shortage of colorful Brazilian culture for the night, with art from award-winning, Brazilian artists and photographers: Graziella Gadia, Di Roberto, Jade Matarazzo, Ivonete Leite, Mariza Formaggini, Didi Marchi, Clara Piquet, and special participation of Fernanda Frangetto. The art will be on display for the public to experience at the Doral Government Center (1st floor) on weekdays from 8:30am- 4:30pm until October 11th.
Ms. Frangetto, a Doral resident and artist, unveiled her most recent an art installation “Band” at the event , and is also donating a commemorative trophy creation in honor of the fight against cancer for the American Cancer Society’s Doral 2017 Relay for Life event happening on November 18th, in Downtown Doral Park.
Event attendees were moving and grooving thanks to the Beatriz Malnic Trio, who played typical Bossa nova from Brazil. Youth participation was not lacking with the American and Brazilian anthems performed by Ronald Reagan – Doral Senior High students, Jade Santos and Genesis Guevara with Giovanna Basso, respectively. To top it all off, delicious hors d'oeuvre like Salpicão, Pastelzinho de Carne and Pão-de-queijo, transported you to the exotic country.
Doral truly does love Brazil and it was made evident by this great celebration congratulating Brazil, its citizens and those of Brazilian descent for their cultural richness and contributions to the world!
