Doral, FL – On June 22nd, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, City Council, and the Langesfeld Family, came together to unveil the new co-designation "Nicky Langesfeld Place" signage at NW 114th Avenue, between NW 41st Street and NW 50th Street. Many members of the community were present to pay tribute to Nicky Langesfeld’s life and legacy as a member of our community. The heartfelt ceremony took place next to “Nicky Langesfeld Place”, in a quiet and beautiful, shaded area behind Trails & Tails Park, which Nicky lived close to during her time in Doral and frequented with her dogs. Nicky lived in Doral from the ages of 4 to 26, attending Doral schools and creating many memories with her family who still reside in the city. "Growing up in Doral was the city where Nicky was able to develop and become the beautiful, powerful, and admired woman she came to be, which created an unforgettable impact and light to all those around her. “Nicky Langesfeld Place” will forever be a reminder to the community that we are all here for a short period of time and we do not know when that timer will run out. This street will forever be a reminder to what a beautiful and caring community the City of Doral is, has been, and will continue to be for countless generations to come,” said Martin Langesfeld, brother of Nicky. We will fondly remember her days in Doral and accomplishments before her untimely passing at the Surfside tragedy a year ago.
