Doral, FL— On Saturday, June 24th, 2021, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez and City Council joined the partners from Florida General Counsel, P.A. to unveil the sign of their newly adopted street NW 82nd Avenue between NW 12th Street and NW 25th Street. A plaque was presented to the law firm that just had their second-year anniversary in the City of Doral. Also joining Hugo Garcia and Nabila Torres at the event was State Representative Tom Fabbriccio to recognize the young partners and their commitment to the community by taking part in this program.
After the event, the partners and their volunteers rolled up their sleeves and conducted cleanup activities along the one mile stretch of street. A total of 232 pounds of debris were removed from City’s right-of-way.
The City of Doral Public Works Department (PWD) created the program through Resolution No. 05-12 and manages the Adopt-a-Street program, which provides the opportunity to local business and volunteer groups to beautify the City’s right-of-way (ROW). This two-year agreement keeps each group responsible for the removal of litter along their adopted street a minimum of 4 times each year and the weight of garbage collected is reported to the State of Florida through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) City permit.
