The City has partnered with Florida Power & Light (FPL) to bring solar energy projects to the parks at no cost to the City. Two solar trees installed at Morgan Levy Park provide 120 sq. ft. of shade, electronic charging stations, and seating. Clean, renewable energy generated from these projects is fed to the energy grid and benefits the entire community.
"As a world-class, Smart City we continue striving for innovative ways to increase sustainability and to address important topics like the creation and use of energy," said Mayor Juan Carlos "JC" Bermudez . "Morgan Levy Park is very popular and frequented by many families that enjoy participating in sports and being outdoors, making it the perfect location for these two solar trees that will help teach children about the benefits of emissions-free energy forms.”
