Important Changes to Alcohol Sales & Consumption in Doral

Dear Doral Residents & Business Owners,

We want to inform you about an important update regarding alcohol sales and consumption within our city. Effective October 1, 2024, a new ordinance will regulate the hours for selling and consuming alcoholic beverages based on the type of business.

Here’s a breakdown of the new rules:

Restaurants:

• Last call for alcohol sales at 1:00 AM
• No alcohol consumption permitted after 1:30 AM
• All alcoholic beverages must be cleared from tables by 1:30 AM
• Restaurants can remain open to serve food

Entertainment Establishments, Venues, and Alcohol Beverage Stores:

• Last call for alcohol sales at 1:30 AM
• No alcohol consumption permitted after 2:00 AM
• These establishments must close by 2:00 AM

Extended Hours Permit:
Businesses in designated downtown mixed-use districts or entertainment establishments can apply for an extended hours permit. If approved:

• Last call for alcohol sales is extended to 2:30 AM and must be closed by 3:30 AM
• Will require increased security measures from 11:00 PM until closing. 

Approved businesses must implement increased security measures starting at 11:00 PM until closing. These measures include security cameras, off-duty police or private security, weapon detection systems, ID checks, secured areas, staff training, and occupancy load monitoring.

Important Deadline:

• Submit your extended hours permit application by August 1st at 5:00 PM to comply by October 1.
