Doral, FL - The City of Doral reminds all Doral residents to reply to the Census by the deadline – September 30, 2020! It is a short 10-minute questionnaire that can easily and safely be completed online at https://my2020census.gov/. By law, all information provided in the questionnaire will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with any other government agency and there is no question regarding your citizenship status. “The results from the Census 2020 will frame the future of our community for the next 10 years,” stated Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “Join us in proudly participating to make sure that everyone in our City counts so that our community can receive funding for important programs that enhance our lives.” Every 10 years, the U.S Bureau conducts a census to determine the number of people living in the United States. Census data affects how billions in federal funding is distributed to state and local governments for new schools, hospitals and businesses. The census also helps communities create jobs, provide housing, fund K-12 education, prepare for emergencies and build schools, roads, hospitals and libraries. Additionally, the census data determines how many seats our state gets in Congress – state and local officials use census data to draw boundaries for state and local legislative districts as well as school districts. Completing the census is our civic duty and a way to participate in our democracy to attain proper representation as citizens of this nation. Together we can shape our future by ensuring that #DoralCounts by September 30, 2020. For more details, please visit www.cityofdoral.com/census2020.
