Mosquito Control Efforts

Miami-Dade County Mosquito Control has reinstated residential inspections and is redeploying its mosquito surveillance network now that roads are passable and power has been restored to the majority of the community. Once power is fully restored to all areas, Mosquito Control will reinstate both truck adulticiding and routine truck larviciding treatments.

Larviciding using Bti is a proactive measure to prevent mosquito breeding at the larval stage and prevents the emergence of adult biting mosquitoes. There are no immediate plans for aerial spraying for adult mosquitoes. However, we are carefully monitoring the situation and stand ready to perform an aerial treatment should surveillance data and complaint calls warrant.

The Doral Code Compliance has also begun placing larvacide around the community to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds to help mitigate mosquito related diseases.
