Doral Vice Mayor, Digna Cabral, has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) committees for Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENR); Council on Youth Educations and Families (YEF); and the Military Communities Council (MCC).
Doral, FL – Doral Vice Mayor, Digna Cabral, has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) committees for Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENR); Council on Youth Educations and Families (YEF); and the Military Communities Council (MCC). Vice Mayor Cabral was elected to a one-year term for each committee where she will be instrumental in providing strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. The appointments were announced by NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia. “I am honored to be selected to serve on these impactful committees that help shape policy and make a difference in the lives of so many,” said Vice Mayor Digna Cabral. “I look forward to proudly representing Doral and representing our residents as part of these important discussions.” “NLC’s federal advocacy committees are a key tool for gathering insights directly from the communities that our members serve,” said NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia. “I am excited to have Vice Mayor Cabral serve on committees and look forward to working with her to fulfill the promise of America’s cities, towns, and villages.” As a member of the EENR committee, Vice Mayor Cabral will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s municipalities before Congress, with the administration and at home, particularly around building sustainable, and resilient infrastructure. On the YEF committee, Vice Mayor Cabral will collaborate with youth members and representatives from major national organizations. They will deal with issues related children, youth, and families, addressing best practices. In her role on the MCC committee, Vice Mayor Cabral will partner with other elected officials to ensuring the voices of partners within military and veteran communities are heard, and that there is equity at local and national levels.
